A Cape York Leaders Program Scholarship offers support to assist our talented Indigenous students to access credible academic institutions and graduate with a standard of excellence.
About the Role
As the Project Coordinator – Student Support, you will manage key projects, coordinate regional events, and provide case management to ensure our students stay engaged and succeed in both secondary and tertiary education. This position is based in Cairns and works closely with CYLP staff located throughout Queensland.
You will:
* Coordinate leadership events and term-based student programs.
* Manage new projects including planning, budgeting, risk assessment, and delivery.
* Provide tailored case management to support Indigenous students academically, socially, and culturally.
* Support student transition into and through tertiary studies.
* Build positive relationships with families, service providers, and stakeholders to promote student engagement and success.
* Oversee scholarship recruitment and administration alongside the team.
* Drive student recognition and program visibility through social media and communications.
* Contribute to operational tasks and maintain robust administrative systems.
About You
We’re looking for a driven and passionate individual with:
* Project and Case Management Skills – Demonstrated experience in education, community programs, or student support settings.
* Strong Administration Abilities – Proven ability to coordinate events and manage competing priorities.
* Excellent Communication – Ability to engage with Indigenous students, families, and stakeholders with respect and clarity.
* Cultural Knowledge – Awareness of the challenges faced by Indigenous students and a commitment to their empowerment.
* Tech Savvy – Proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media, and digital communication tools.
* Qualifications – A diploma, certificate, or relevant experience in education, youth work, or community services.
* Driver’s License + Blue Card – Required prior to commencement. A police check will also be conducted.
