Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, motivated, and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to lead and support our housekeeping team. This role will require commuting from Cairns and plays a critical part in ensuring our rooms and public areas are maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, a passion for guest satisfaction, and the ability to lead, train, and hold the team accountable to resort standards. Key Responsibilities
* Supervise daily operations of the housekeeping team, ensuring timely and quality room turnovers.
* Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to resort standards.
* Ensure all housekeeping team members are trained in cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and guest service expectations.
* Lead by example in delivering excellence in cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation.
* Implement and maintain checklists, SOPs, and quality control measures.
* Schedule and coordinate housekeeping shifts and duties to meet operational needs.
* Maintain housekeeping supply inventory and ensure proper use of chemicals and equipment.
* Report and follow up on maintenance issues or guest complaints in a timely and professional manner.
* Uphold accountability and performance standards within the housekeeping team.
* Conduct regular team briefings, training sessions, and performance reviews.
* Foster a positive and productive team environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a housekeeping supervisory role, preferably in a resort or hotel setting.
* Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high standards.
* Strong leadership and team management skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
* Ability to train and develop staff to meet performance and service standards.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Strong time management and the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
* Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and health & safety standards.
* Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
