Overview
The .NET Developer is required to work with the project team to uplift the existing code and deliver the requirements for enhancements and improvements. Success for this role will rely on the individual's ability to deliver in a fast paced and highly dynamic environment, be a good cultural fit and an ability to challenge and drive thinking in new directions.
Key duties and responsibilities
The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
* Participate in the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to develop and maintain a C# based, n-tier, enterprise software and associated documentation in accordance with AEC standards.
* Develop automated application build and deployment scripts using technologies such as Team Foundation Server (TFS). Powershell and FinalBuilder.
* Follow the Scrum Development Methodology for all software development projects.
* Liaise with technical and business area staff to facilitate the rapid resolution of issues and/or faults within filed production systems and those still under development.
* Other activities as directed.
About the team
The Funding and Disclosure Reform Program was established to enable the AEC to implement and administer legislative amendments to the Commonwealth Funding and Disclosure Scheme (the Scheme) as set out in Part XX of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 (Electoral Act) to increase transparency and accountability in Australia's electoral system.
The Program is made up of three branches– the Program Management Office Branch, the Regulatory Enablement Branch, and the Technology Delivery Branch – that will work together to uplift the AEC's regulatory capability by designing, building and implementing new processes, resourcing, tools, systems and technology to successfully administer the Scheme.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated experience with Agile Software Development Methodologies & documentation.
* Experience with Visual Studio.
* Backend development experience using web API and SQL technologies.
* Demonstrated experience in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
* Strong experience in Developing automated application build and deployment scripts using the .NET environment (.NET Core), and additional Microsoft technology stack.
* Demonstrated experience with cloud-based applications development.
* Ability to produce well designed, documented, and testable code.
* Peer reviewof developed productsand scripts.
* Knowledge and experience in successfully setting priorities and delivering quality results on time and on budget.
* Proven abilityto communicate effectively whilst anticipating stakeholder needs and expectations across a geographically dispersed network.
* Proven analytical abilities with the ability to propose and facilitate changeand contribute to business improvement strategies.
* Demonstrated abilityto manage staff while developing capabilities, encouraging career development, and promoting professionalism.
* Demonstrated personalintegrity whilst achievingresults within legislative and policy parameters.
* Bachelor's degree in information technology or computerscience (or other relevant discipline).
* Knowledge of, or abilityto, quickly gain knowledge of Australian electorallaw and practice.
* A willingness to undergo securityvetting at the Negative VettingNV1 level.
* Experience in Cloud-based technologies.
* Exposure to Microsoft Azure Dev Ops.
* Experience in technical analysisand design.
* Implement integration requirements to performend to end solution designs.
