The Opportunity
This role plays an important part in the import and export activities of the site, using a variety of counterbalance forklifts ranging from 2.5 to 16 tonnes. You will be loading and unloading trucks and shipping containers and handling a variety of freight sizes including timber lengths and aluminium coils. The work schedule is Monday to Friday with an early start and early finish.
Responsibilities
* Load and unload shipping containers and trucks for import and export
* Operate a variety of counterbalance forklifts ranging from 2.5 to 16 tonnes
* Put stock away, stage for despatch and move goods around warehouse as needed
* Complete all relevant paperwork required for goods receipt and despatch
* Participate in stocktakes or other ad hoc duties as required
Qualifications
* Valid forklift license and minimum 12 months of experience operating a counterbalance forklift
* Strong English communication and literacy levels
* Confidence with loading and unloading containers and trucks with the ability to support load restraints
* A responsible, reliable approach to your working day and a positive attitude towards your team
* A strong commitment to safety regulations, ensuring the yard and warehouse safety standards are adhered to
