About the Role
* You will be working within CASG, on JP9347 Joint Data Networks as a Systems Engineer. The successful candidate will contribute to JP9347 project's engineering activities from requirements development and market solicitation to acquisition through to introduction into service.
Main Responsibilities:
* Supporting the planning and execution of the project engineering program and participating in engineering engagement with industry as part of a holistic contract management approach
* Conducting requirements and specification development
* Liaising with internal and external project stakeholders, and providing mentoring to junior engineers
* Developing engineering advice to Project Leadership on the Engineering Program, and development of briefings and other formal correspondence to project/program leadership
* Review for acceptance of contract deliverables and supporting or executing whole of system level certification activities
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor of Engineering (or Engineers Australia recognised equivalent), plus ideally postgraduate qualification(s) in a relevant field
* Analysis, design, review, and delivering high quality engineering documentation to support government approvals and delivery
* Initiative, creativity, and responsibility to perform a range and variety of complex technical work activities with limited guidance
* Managing technical and integration risks, and applying testing and evaluation techniques across the system development life cycle
* Formal qualifications in Communications, or other technology specifically relevant to tactical data links
* Understanding of Defence processes and structure

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
