About The Facility
Geelong-based sites include University Hospital Geelong, the McKellar Centre, Barwon Health North and related facilities. The Pharmacy Department provides clinical pharmacy services, aseptic and oncology preparation, hospital-in-the-home and outpatient services. The department emphasizes medication safety, antimicrobial stewardship, radiopharmacy and related services. The Beth Allerton Family Oncology Pharmacy offers chemotherapy preparation, clinical trials, outpatient dispensing and patient counselling within the Cancer Centre.
About The Role
This is a permanent part-time position for a pharmacy technician in The Allerton Family Oncology Pharmacy. You will assist the staff in providing an excellent cancer treatment service to our community. This position is 32 hours per fortnight.
Some Of Your Responsibilities Would Include
* Safely prepare cancer therapies in accordance with training, policy and procedures
* Stock management and drug distribution
* Efficiently and accurately dispense and PBS claim for all items supplied by oncology pharmacy (manufactured and non-manufactured items)
* Outpatient pharmacy service provision
* Assist team members in delivering a quality clinical pharmacy service

About You
Essential:
* Completion of Certificate III in Hospital Health Services & Pharmacy Support or willingness to complete within an agreed time frame
* Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility
* Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Desirable:
* Strong general computer skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Hospital or Community pharmacy dispensary experience
* Previous aseptic manufacturing experience
