Key Responsibilities:
* Assess plumbing and drainage applications, inspect installed works, and investigate related complaints to ensure compliance with permit conditions and legislative requirements.
You will be working within a collaborative team that includes Plumbing Inspectors, Senior Plumbing Inspectors, Functional Lead, Coordinator Hydraulics, and the Team Manager – Planning Assessment. The role also engages with a broader multidisciplinary group encompassing infrastructure, social planning, heritage, urban design, and open space planning.
Effective collaboration is essential to support informed land use decisions. Strong communication and negotiation skills are critical as the position involves liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve balanced and sustainable land use outcomes for the City.
About You
* You must have a sound working knowledge of the Plumbing and Drainage Act and Regulations with an understanding of related legislation, including the Local Government Act, Building Act, Environmental Protection Act, Water Act, Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act, and Workplace Health and Safety Act.
* You will provide sound technical advice to licensees, builders, the development industry, Council departments, the public and other stakeholders on plumbing and drainage related matters.
