The Cathedral School is seeking a permanent full-time Junior School Teacher to commence in January 2026. The successful applicant will be working with a great team of professional Teachers in a school that values its staff.

The Cathedral School provides state-of-the-art facilities, flexible learning spaces, small class sizes, and extensive professional development for staff in a supportive teaching environment. With a clear focus on learning as the core business, teachers will be required to provide an individualised and engaging teaching program differentiating for students. Key Responsibilities

* Apply professional knowledge by understanding how students learn and tailoring your teaching to meet diverse learning needs.
* Demonstrate strong content knowledge and use effective, evidence-based strategies to teach in engaging and accessible ways.
* Plan and implement effective teaching and learning programs that align with curriculum standards and foster productive learning and problem-solving skills.
* Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments where all students feel valued, respected, and motivated to succeed.
* Assess, provide feedback, and report on student learning to guide progress and support individual growth.
* Engage in ongoing professional learning to enhance your practice and stay current with educational developments.
* Collaborate professionally with colleagues, parents/carers, and the wider school community to support student achievement and wellbeing.
* Actively participate in professional and community networks and forums to broaden your knowledge and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

* Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood or Primary) or a degree qualification supported by a post-graduate diploma or degree in teaching or education.
* Current teaching registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
* Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
* A commitment to continuous improvement and student success.
* Current First Aid and CPR certificate.

* Salary of $92,293 for a 1st year teacher and $130,996 for a teacher with 8+ years teaching experience.

The Cathedral School of St Anne & St James located in Mundingburra is Townsville's only Independent Anglican School for boys and girls from Early Childhood to Year 12 and boarding students from Year 7 to 12.
