Nurse Practitioner – Emergency Department (NP-ED)
The Nurse Practitioner – Emergency Department (NP-ED) offers a unique opportunity to provide advanced nursing practice within innovative models of care. This role will allow you to function both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, diagnosing, treating, and managing patients' health issues in the emergency and urgent care setting. You will harness your nursing expertise and leadership skills to drive clinical improvements and enhance patient outcomes across the region.
Ideal Candidate
* A registered nurse with endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Proven advanced clinical experience in emergency care or a related field.
* Strong leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence clinical care and policy development.
* Experience in quality improvement initiatives and the development of new care systems.
* Digital literacy in clinical systems that supports effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnoses, prescribing medications as required.
* Order and analyse pathology and radiological tests, referring patients to other health professionals when necessary.
* Manage patient conditions in accordance with approved Clinical Practice Guidelines, while also collaborating with pharmacists and medical officers on medication management plans.
* Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to peers and junior staff, fostering a culture of professional development.
* Identify opportunities for quality improvement and actively contribute to creating and implementing evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.
