About the role
In this leadership role, you will craft and deliver innovative, modern communication strategies that connect with our community, stakeholders, and internal teams.
You'll oversee a talented, multi-disciplinary team, guiding projects across marketing, public relations, social media, website content, and community engagement. Your expert advice will influence key organisational decisions, ensuring all communications align with Council priorities and policies. With a keen eye on digital trends, brand recognition, and community impact, you'll lead initiatives that enhance Council's reputation and deliver exceptional stakeholder experiences.

About you
You are an experienced communications and or marketing leader with relevant tertiary qualifications and at least five years' experience in the field. You are passionate about innovation, and professional growth in teams and yourself. You inspire and guide high-performing teams, delivering strategic communication plans across digital, social media, content, and public engagement channels.
Highly organised and solution-focused, you excel at managing multiple priorities, building relationships, and turning complex challenges into practical, customer-focused outcomes. You have strong financial, HR, and organisational knowledge, with exceptional verbal, written, and public communication skills. Experience and qualifications in community consultation is highly desirable, helping you strengthen connections and deliver meaningful impact aligned with organisational goals.
