Utilise your all round office admin experience to support a busy community services centre Temporary maternity leave assignment Duration is approx. 2 months. Part time – 4 days per week (20 hours) Located in Deception Bay This centre regularly supports community members experiencing crisis, including domestic violence, mental health challenges, and emotional distress. This is a critical frontline role. While this role does not provide counselling, it is the first point of contact and requires calm, empathetic engagement, effective triage, and appropriate referrals. This temporary assignment is 4 days per week, for a total of 20 hours per week. As the Front Office Administrator, you will be the welcoming and steady presence at reception, supporting clients, staff, and visitors in a high‑demand environment. Key Responsibilities include: Front desk reception and face‑to‑face customer service Managing phone calls, walk‑in enquiries, and appointment bookings Calmly triaging clients and directing them to appropriate services within the building Referring community members to external support services when required Managing calendars and appointments using Microsoft 365 Maintaining statistics and data records using Excel, and utilising the database Providing general administrative support to team members We are seeking someone who is confident, empathetic, and resilient, with the ability to remain calm in emotionally charged situations. Essential Skills & Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in an administrative, reception, or front office role Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with vulnerable or distressed clients Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment High emotional intelligence and professionalism Confident using Microsoft 365, particularly Outlook and Excel Desirable: Experience in community services, crisis environments, or exposure to challenging client interactions Previous experience in nonprofit or human services settings Compliance Requirements Blue Card (or willingness to obtain) National Police Check If you are a steady, compassionate professional looking to support vulnerable community members in a meaningful way, we encourage you to apply.
