Northern Star Resources have a fantastic and rewarding opportunity for a Survey Technician to join the Mining - Open pit mining team at the KCGM operations, residentially based in Kalgoorlie - the Heart of the Goldfields.
This is a residential, Kalgoorlie based position, working an 8/6 11-hour day roster, with the unique benefit of being less than a 10‐minute drive to any front door in Kalgoorlie.
Responsibilities
* Drone surveys of the open pit areas, tailings and infrastructure.
* GPS setting out and pickups.
* All the associated software processing with the above tasks.
* Maintain the Survey Vehicles – daily pre‐start & washing of vehicles.
* Maintain the Survey Stores area.
* Maintain and Clean Survey Equipment.
Requirements
Essential
* Methodical, analytical mindset with the ability to identify errors; hardworking and works well in a team environment.
* Ability to quickly pick up new software and enjoys a balance between working in the office and the physical side of day‐to‐day work.
* Follows procedures and processes to ensure tasks are done safely and efficiently.
* Class C Driver's license.
Desired
* Experience using CAD software or exposure to mining, working in a high‐risk environment around heavy machinery.
* Qualifications in surveying or willingness to study towards one.
