About the role:
Construct organic and hard surface models which convey the intent of art department reference and are faithful to the style of the production.
Define the three-dimensional form and two dimensional silhouette of all models as briefed and resolve unspecified details as required;
Work within a brief and use 2D design reference to paint CG textures faithful to the production style;
Develop shaders for all CG assets;
Create UV maps or adjust models as needed, adhering to pipeline requirements;
Follow guidance from the creative and technical leaders to realize the Director's vision;
Reconcile technical and creative requirements for motion picture quality, including geometry efficiency, detail level, topology, UV layout, and rendering;
Create, revise, and maintain digital assets, supporting end users and responding to review notes;
Support and communicate with other crew members such as Technical Directors, Modelers, Riggers, Surfacers, Background artists, Animators, and Lighters;
Work with Asset, Background, CG Layout, and Lighting/Compositing teams to meet schedules and deadlines;
Ensure the Director’s vision is realized;
Implement solutions promptly and effectively;
Build relationships with key production members and artists;
Take direction and work autonomously as needed;
Be adaptable and responsive to changes;
Complete tasks within production deadlines.
About you:
Ability to meet deadlines consistently;
Experience with Maya, Photoshop, and high proficiency in Substance Painter or Mari in a production environment;
Knowledge of modeling, surfacing, and rigging workflows;
Experience with Katana and/or Arnold, understanding photoreal and non-photoreal rendering;
Ability to identify issues impacting asset delivery;
Excellent communication skills and teamwork attitude;
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to change;
Ability to work independently and under supervision;
Maintain productivity and quality in a fast-paced environment.
