Position: Chef
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $76,515.00 plus superannuation per annum
Location: Ferny Hills QLD 4055
Our client, a well-established Indian restaurant located in Ferny Hills, Queensland, is seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join their team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
2. Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
3. Discussing food preparation issues with managers, dietitians, and kitchen and waiting staff
4. Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
5. Preparing and cooking food
6. Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
7. Selecting and training staff where required
8. Freezing and preserving foods as necessary.
Requirements:
1. Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Hospitality Management
2. A minimum of three (3) years' proven experience working as a Chef, with a strong emphasis on Indian cuisine
3. Expertise in Indian cooking, including knowledge of regional dishes, spice profiles, and traditional preparation techniques.
4. Ability to work in a rapid-paced environment while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
