Senior/ Principal Electrical Design Engineer — EEHA Automation | Brisbane, QLD | Full Time
EEHA Automation is seeking a capable and detail-driven Senior Electrical Design Engineer with strong Drafting to support the delivery of high-quality electrical engineering solutions across industrial and hazardous area environments. Working closely with our Engineers, Project Managers and site teams, you will be responsible for producing accurate, construction-ready electrical drawings and documentation that support compliant, efficient and practical project outcomes.

The Role
As the Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will translate engineering concepts into detailed electrical drawings and documentation suitable for construction and installation. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with Australian Standards and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead electrical engineering design and development for Low/Extra Low /high-voltage systems and projects predominately for Control Systems Design.
* Provide technical expertise for LV/HV infrastructure, including installation, operation, and maintenance.
* Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and site inspections for electrical projects.
* Collaborate with internal teams to meet project specifications and deadlines.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
* Control Systems background to support implementation
* Support material take-offs and assist project teams with procurement documentation
* Maintain drawing registers, templates and document control processes
* Ensure all documentation complies with relevant Australian Standards and project specifications
About You
* Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical drafting within industrial, commercial environments
* Degree in Electrical Engineering
* CPEng and RPEQ
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single line diagrams and panel schedules
* Sound understanding of Australian electrical standards and installation practices
* High level of attention to detail and commitment to drafting accuracy
* Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with engineers and site personnel
* Well organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
* Experience in industrial automation projects
* Exposure to Revit or BIM coordination environments
* Experience supporting estimating and material take-offs
* Familiarity with control systems, PLC I/O schedules and instrumentation drawings
