$124,645.17 to $140, Annually + up to 13% super

RCC Officers' Level 8 + partial private use of Council vehicle or vehicle allowance

Join our team as a Principal Adviser Performance and Innovation and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of City Planning & Assessment at Redland City Council. In this strategic, forward‑looking role, you'll lead the design and delivery of our continuous improvement, business planning and performance management frameworks, driving smarter processes, stronger performance and better service outcomes for our community. Your responsibilities will include:

Business Transformation

* Drive improvement culture – Lead the development and delivery of a continuous improvement framework that enhances service quality and operational performance.
* Shape smarter systems – Align service delivery improvements within Council's improvement framework and ensure systems remain fit‑for‑purpose and future‑focused.
* Generate real business value – Identify and track productivity gains, cost savings and service enhancements that matter to our customers.

Operational Planning and Performance

* Lead strategic planning – Drive the creation, monitoring and implementation of Group operational plans, business plans and performance frameworks.
* Turn insights into action – Produce clear, meaningful plans that reflect statutory requirements and the priorities of teams and stakeholders.
* Build understanding and buy‑in – Communicate plans effectively to embed shared ownership and ensure alignment across the Group.

Leadership and Collaboration

* Be a trusted expert – Provide high‑level advice on business transformation, performance, planning processes and Queensland planning framework insights.
* Inspire a high‑performing team – Lead and develop two Business Analysts and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration across the Group.
* Navigate complexity with confidence – Manage competing demands and resources to deliver outcomes that meet customer and organisational expectations.

Program and Project Delivery

* Manage complex improvement projects – Oversee Group and cross‑organisational programs that solve organisational challenges and lift service performance.
* Guide project success – Influence resource allocation, ensure strong governance and track delivery to achieve planned benefits.

Change Management

* Lead meaningful change – Partner with change and communications specialists to deliver impactful organisational change initiatives.
* Manage risk and transition – Ensure change projects stay on track and deliver outcomes aligned to key milestones.

Skills and experience:

* Proven success in developing and delivering corporate planning and business improvement strategies in large or complex environments.
* Strong relationship‑building, consultation and influencing skills, with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders.
* Demonstrated experience leading a multi‑disciplinary team and driving performance and improvement outcomes.
* High‑level project management expertise, delivering initiatives on time and within budget across diverse business areas.
* Deep knowledge of change management principles and tools relevant to large‑scale organisational and cultural change.
* Advanced business analysis capability across varied workforces.
* Experience working in large, complex government environments.
* Knowledge of Queensland planning and development legislation and processes (advantageous).
* Relevant tertiary or professional qualifications (desirable).
