Details: We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic communications generalist to join our team. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys a fast‑paced and varied workload and can confidently switch between tasks.

You will contribute to planning and delivering communications and engagement activities across multiple projects, including creating and publishing audience‑focused content for digital, social, web, media and print channels. You will assist with community engagement activities and events, support media and reputation management, and contribute to evaluation and continuous improvement of communications approaches.

The role requires experience producing written and digital content, including video and photography, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

You will demonstrate initiative, sound judgement and strong organisational skills, while following established processes and protocols. An understanding of contemporary communications and engagement practices, strong stakeholder skills, and a commitment to ACT Public Service values, workplace respect, equity and safety are essential.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: Compliance Requirements / Qualifications

Desirable:

* Relevant tertiary qualifications or a minimum of 3 years’ experience working professionally in the fields of communications and content production, media, public relations, marketing, or strategic communications is preferred.
* IAP2 qualifications are desirable.
* The ability to work flexibly with some out of hours work may be required.

Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.

Please note, this position has moved to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
