Start 2026 Strong – Multiple Structural Site Inspectors/Engineers Needed for January Commencement in Mackay, Queensland
We have multiple positions available for qualified Structural Site Inspectors/Engineers to join our team in Mackay, Queensland. This is not a FIFO role, and you must be based locally to provide responsive engineering support to our valued Central Queensland clients. Relocation assistance is available if required. Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for this position due to local residency requirements.
You will work across a variety of projects in ports, mines, and heavy industry, with a mix of site‑based and Mackay office‑based work. This hands‑on role involves inspecting and reporting on the structural integrity of major materials handling assets such as conveyors, transfer towers, surge bins, bridges, offshore/marine structures, shiploaders, stackers/reclaimers, and dump stations. You'll play a key role in identifying and managing structural defects, directly contributing to the safety and reliability of critical infrastructure.
What we are looking for
We are seeking energetic and motivated Structural Site Inspectors/Engineers to join our team and be actively involved in the inspection of major materials handling structures. We welcome applicants across experience levels:
Junior Structural Site Inspectors
Recent graduates (0‑5 years) with some site inspection experience or a strong desire to gain hands‑on exposure in heavy industry.
Experienced Structural Site Inspectors
Postgraduates with 5‑10+ years of engineering experience and demonstrated site inspection capability, responsible for assessing and reporting on the structural integrity of heavy industrial and materials handling structures and equipment.
Qualifications
* A Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering (must include Engineers Australia certification, if applicable).
* Experienced Structural Site Inspectors – Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) and/or Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), desirable but not essential.
Skills, experience and attributes
* Structural steel and concrete inspection experience.
* Structural steel and concrete inspection experience is preferred, with training provided to successful candidates.
* Knowledge of structural steel and concrete design and analysis (preferred).
* Hands‑on site inspection experience, ideally in heavy industry and materials handling equipment.
* Familiarity with AS1170, AS4100, AS3600 (AS4324.1 preferred).
* Well‑developed verbal, oral and written English communication skills.
* Solid report writing and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated commitment to safety.
* Physically fit and able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
* Background in structural design or site project engineering in industrial environments.
