Role Overview
Transport for NSW is seeking a School Crossing Supervisor to work casually in the Randwick Local Government Area. You'll be a respected Road Safety Hero, supporting children, parents, teachers and local motorists, and providing a familiar presence at school crossings.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and supervise school crossing sites during school zone hours (8:00-9:30 AM and 2:30-4:00 PM), ensuring safety for all road users.
* Provide timely relief at crossings as shifts may vary but must be a minimum of one hour, Monday to Friday during the school term.
* Display effective communication skills and remain alert to potential hazards and traffic conditions.
* Maintain a professional appearance and work reliably in all weather conditions.
* Support the delivery of accurate school crossing signage, indicators and signage removal when required.
* Assist in maintaining compliance with all safety and operational procedures.
Requirements
* Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
* Complete training, uniforms and equipment will be provided.
* Willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check, Reference Checks, Police Check and Health Assessment is essential.
* Ability to demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.
* Good communication and customer-service skills.
Working Hours & Salary
The role is casual. Hourly rate: $33.83 per hour, plus superannuation. Shift lengths range from a minimum of one hour to the full school zone shift length. The position is on‐site and requires presence during school zone hours.
