Sydney Health & Care Services (SHCS) is seeking an experienced House Team Leader to lead and support a SIL home working with male and female participants with complex physical disabilities, psychosocial disabilities, and mental health diagnoses.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who leads by example, is confident working directly on the floor, and can support staff while ensuring participants receive safe, consistent, and high-quality care.

About the Role

As a House Team Leader, you will work directly within the home, balancing participant-facing care with day-to-day operational oversight. This includes supporting participants who may present with physical and verbal aggression, complex behaviours, and high support needs.

You will be a key link between frontline staff, management, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide direct support and supervision on the floor within a complex SIL environment
* Support participants with daily living, behavioural support strategies, and risk management
* Assist with rostering coordination, shift coverage, and ensuring safe staffing levels
* Review and approve timesheets, ensuring accuracy and SCHADS compliance
* Provide on-site coaching, mentoring, and guidance to support workers
* Lead by example in managing challenging behaviours calmly and professionally
* Liaise with stakeholders, carers, allied health professionals, and internal managers
* Support implementation of Behaviour Support Plans, incident responses, and reporting
* Promote consistency, professionalism, and accountability within the house team

About You

You are a confident and emotionally intelligent leader who is comfortable stepping in, supporting staff through challenging situations, and maintaining professional boundaries.

You will bring:

* Previous leadership or management experience (Team Leader, Senior Support Worker, Supervisor or similar)
* Experience supporting people with complex mental health, physical disabilities, and behaviours of concern
* Strong communication skills and the ability to coach staff in real time
* Confidence managing aggression, escalation, and crisis situations
* A practical, calm, and solution-focused approach
* Strong documentation and organisational skills

Essential Requirements

* Certificate III or IV in Disability, Mental Health, Individual Support, or equivalent
* Demonstrated experience in a lead or supervisory role
* NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
* Working With Children Check (where required)
* First Aid & CPR
* Ability to work full-time, including rotating shifts as required
* Strong understanding of professional boundaries, safety, and duty of care

Why Join SHCS

* Full-time, stable leadership role
* Strong organisational support and clear escalation pathways
* Opportunity to grow into broader leadership or management roles
* Values-driven organisation focused on compassion, accountability, and quality care
* Be part of a team that genuinely supports both participants and staff

If you are an experienced support professional ready to step into a hands-on leadership role within a complex SIL setting, we encourage you to apply.
