Volunteer for the Gascoyne River Bush Fire Brigade, Protecting Lives and Landscapes Where the Outback Meets the Coast.
The Shire of Carnarvon is seeking expressions of interest from community members who would like to volunteer with the Gascoyne River Bush Fire Brigade.
Bush Fire Brigade volunteers play a vital role in protecting lives, property, and the natural environment across the Shire. The Brigade responds to bushfires and supports fire prevention and preparedness activities, particularly in rural and remote areas.
Who can volunteer?
We welcome expressions of interest from people who:
* Are 18 years of age or older
* Are willing to work as part of a team
* Have a strong commitment to community safety
* Are able to attend training and respond to incidents when available
No previous firefighting experience is required. All necessary training, equipment, and protective clothing will be provided.
What does volunteering involve?
* Responding to bushfire incidents when safe and available
* Participating in training and skills development
* Supporting fire prevention and mitigation activities
* Contributing to community resilience and emergency preparedness
