Established in Sydney's Inner West in 1997 by Tugi and Dianna Balog, Graphic Art Mount is a leader in its field specialising in fine art mounting, exhibition framing, archival methods, and museum and custom display services.
Operating out of a purpose-built studio in Sydney's St Peters, our team of experienced and highly skilled professionals offer in-house archival framing services, photographic and print mounting for artists, galleries, public art institutions, private and government organisations, museums, collectors, art consultants.
About the role
Graphic Art Mount are looking for a new team member to support our production workshop in the cutting and joining of framing materials.

The role offers the potential to learn new skills and work with the team on the production of creative art projects. Working in a small team, the responsibilities of this position will include:
* Table saw operation in the cutting of substrates
* Sanding and preparing substrates for production
* Joining frames using under pinner and mitre saw
* Sanding, staining and and finishing timber
* Using the spray booth to finishing surfaces
* Maintaining the organisation and systems of the workshop storage and stock areas
* Communicating effectively with team members in the office and in the workshop to help with production processes
* Working within WHS standards including adhering to policies and procedures for the safety of self and others
Skills and experience
We are looking for a friendly person with a strong moral compass, who will work alongside the team at Graphic Art Mount. The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience in table saw operation is essential. We will not consider applications of individuals with less than a year of experience as a table saw operator
* Strong organisational skills for managing stock and workflow
* Ability to think strategically, good at multitasking, setting priorities and working towards organisational goals
* Strong communication skills and ability to work within a small team
* Physical ability to perform 'hands-on' tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting and manual dexterity
* An eye for detail, demonstrating precision and accuracy particularly when taking measurements, cuts, and finishes
* Basic numeracy skills and ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations
* WHS Training or ability to undertake training
* Spray booth experience is desirable but not essential
* Additional carpentry or cabinet making experience is desirable but not essential
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00 – $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
