Job Description

The role of Turf Management Specialist is to deliver high-quality turf management services in parks, ovals, and open spaces across the Darwin municipality. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, upgrading, and maintaining new and existing turf areas, including general maintenance work, pest and disease identification and control, irrigation system maintenance, and turf renovation and refurbishment activities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of biological processes, hydrology, soil science, and hydraulics relevant to turf maintenance. They will also possess knowledge of common turf pests and diseases and how to control them, as well as an understanding of how irrigation systems work and how to manage them.

Required Skills and Qualifications

1. Certificate III in Turf Management/Horticulture and/or minimum of 3 years' experience in turf management
\
2. Significant experience in the operation of various mobile plant and equipment, including tractors and attachments
\
3. Units of Competency or equivalent AusChem course for AHCCHM3007 - Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds, and diseases, and AHCCHM304 - Transport and store chemicals
\
4. Demonstrated experience of coaching others in job skills
\
5. General Construction Industry - White Card
