We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager – Tours and Travel to lead and grow our tour and travel division. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving strategic growth, developing new tour products, managing key partnerships, and overseeing the delivery of high-quality travel experiences.
About the Role
Reporting to the executive leadership team, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the Tours & Travel division, including product development, sales, operations, and financial performance.
You will play a key role in expanding Deanes’ presence in the coach tour and travel markets while ensuring outstanding customer experiences across all tour offerings. This includes Seniors Tours, Educational Tours and Snow Tours.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Tours & Travel division, including strategy, operations, and financial performance
* Develop and grow tour and travel products including domestic tours, charter travel, group travel, educational tours and snow tours.
* Identify and secure new partnerships with tourism operators, travel agents, and government agencies and seniors clubs.
* Drive sales and marketing initiatives to increase tour bookings and revenue
* Oversee tour planning, logistics, and service delivery to ensure high-quality customer experiences
* Manage and mentor the Tours & Travel team, fostering a high-performance culture
* Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for innovation and growth
* Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies
* Manage budgets, forecasting, and reporting for the division
About You
* Proven experience in tourism, travel management, or tourism operations leadership
* Strong commercial acumen with a track record of growing tourism or travel businesses
* Experience developing and delivering tour programs or travel products
* Excellent leadership and team management skills
* Strong stakeholder management and partnership development abilities
* Experience working with travel agents, tour operators, or educational tour and senior touring markets is highly regarded
* Exceptional organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
* A passion for travel and delivering exceptional customer experiences
