About the role:
Digital Experience is the community within AAD responsible for providing digital experience expertise and methodologies on digital strategic initiatives, legal service transformation capability to support practice and function digital innovation and digital change management and engagement to support the adoption and embedding of digital change initiatives. We are a supportive and tight knit team that is unafraid to push boundaries and deliver change.
After establishing the team in the UK, we are now building a research and design capability in APAC to continue our growth and are recruiting for a creative and collaborative Service Designer in Sydney or Melbourne.
You will be responsible for championing service design methodologies that enable legal delivery teams to adopt best practice and deliver services aligned with evolving client needs, while facilitating collaborative thinking to create alignment, prioritise client outcomes, and drive innovation across digital services and solutions and initiatives. You will be establishing the discipline locally, working to expand our global research and design standards.

About you:
You bring the right experience and qualifications. You have a degree in design, law, business, or a related field, plus 3-5 years' experience in service design or UX (either in-house or at an agency). You've worked in a professional services environment.
You have a strong portfolio. It shows your capability across the service design toolkit and how you've applied it in practice.
You're a strong communicator and collaborator. You have solid communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. You can absorb large amounts of information and turn it into something clear and simple.
You're fluent in modern tools and ways of working. You're confident with agile, lean, and design tools like Miro and Figma. You've worked alongside change management and communications teams to drive change.
You're hands-on and love to uplift others. You're passionate about getting your hands dirty, training up others in your discipline or advocating for design to non-designers and non-technical colleague.
You're curious and forward-thinking. You're excited about innovation, digital transformation, generative AI (including its risks and opportunities), and the evolution of the legal industry.
Bonus experience is a plus. Interest or experience in content design, legal design, or helping mature service design capabilities within an organisation is desirable but not necessary.
