Do you have convenience retailing, other FMCG retail experience or experience working with suppliers servicing FMCG retailers?
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Merchandise Team. While based at our Head Office in Eagle Farm the role will involve travel across our retail network across QLD and northern NSW. The role is a combination of category management analysis and supplier communication and ensuring compliance across our retail network.
About the Job
As a Buying Assistant (internally Category Management Specialist) you will be responsible for:
* Liaising with suppliers to build and maintain strong relationship and resolve any supplier related issues.
* Ensuring suppliers comply with agreed trading terms, compliance obligations and deliver on merchandising requirements
* Supporting the Merchandise Manager in sourcing, evaluating and negotiating new product ranges
* Monitoring, analysing and reporting on product and category performance against targets, providing actionable insights.
* Ensuring the optimal implementation and compliance of supplier produced planograms across our retail network
* Providing coaching and support to store managers and their teams on effective merchandising techniques and compliance standards
* Coordinating and managing internal promotional programs, including overseeing the design and execution of promotional displays and materials.
Your Skills & Experience:
* Year 12 Completion or equivalent
* Minimum 3 years retail management experience or equivalent experience in a similar role
* Ability to train, coach and mentor store managers
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* Intermediate to advance knowledge of Microsoft Office product suite
* Strong eye for detail
* The ability to work autonomously
* Strong analytical skills
* Experience in training, coaching or mentoring others
* Flexible, self motivated and the ability to work autonomously
Highly Desirable
* Previous Space Management experience
Due to nature of the role it's important that applicants can:

* Perform repetitive tasks including bending, twisting and lifting
* Follow ergonomic guidelines when performing physical tasks
