About the Opportunity :
We are seeking a Facilities or Assets Manager responsible for managing properties on behalf of the South Australian Government.
These public assets include schools, hospitals, courts, police stations, and other facilities.
The role involves managing breakdowns, maintenance, preventative measures, and small projects.
It is based in Port Pirie and is a permanent full-time position.
Key Duties include, but are not limited to :
Identify risks and opportunities related to maintenance and capital works, and develop plans to meet targets and optimize asset lifecycle costs.
Support the Property Asset Management team's strategic and asset planning initiatives.
Analyze maintenance requests to inform asset maintenance and preventative schedules.
Serve as the first point of contact for technical and facilities management issues.
Monitor contractor performance and ensure contracts are executed within scope and budget.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Assist with audits and inspections.
Maintain positive relationships with agencies, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
Monitor and report on subcontracted work delivery.
Manage records and reporting to ensure proactive performance of subcontractors on site.
Who Should Apply - Skills and Qualifications :
Do you have experience or skills in the following areas?
If so, consider applying:
Experience in local government, asset management, field service, facility management, property inspection, or related fields.
Background as a self-employed builder, real estate assessor, developer, property manager, or leasing agent.
Demonstrated experience in facilities management.
Property maintenance and management skills, even without a trade background.
Project management qualification or relevant industry experience.
Current driver's license.
