About the role
This is a full-time Sheetmetal Fabricator role at Cardinia Engineering Group, located in Pakenham South, VIC 3810. As a Sheetmetal Fabricator, you will be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of high-quality metal products for a diverse range of industries.
What you'll be doing
* Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications to fabricate and assemble metal components
* Operating a variety of metalworking machinery such as shears, brakes, welding equipment, and grinders to cut, bend, and join metal materials
* Measuring, marking, and cutting sheet metal to precise dimensions
* Assembling fabricated components into finished products
* Performing quality checks to ensure final products meet required standards
* Collaborating with the production team to optimise workflows and improve efficiency
* Maintaining a clean and organised work environment
What we're looking for
* Strong experience as a Sheetmetal Fabricator, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
* Skilled in the use of metalworking machinery such as shears, brakes, welding equipment, and grinders
* Ability to work with precision and attention to detail to produce high-quality work
* Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* Relevant trade qualifications or certificates in Sheetmetal Fabrication
* Demonstrated experience in general fabrication work with light sheet metal materials
* Must have full Australian work rights with no sponsorship required
* Proficiency with hand tools, press brake, guillotine, and measuring tools
