General Manager – People, Culture & Operations
Established in 2022, adaptCARE Tasmania is a values-led, participant-focused NDIS Registered provider delivering disability support across Short Term Accommodation (Respite), Supported Independent Living (SIL), Community Access, Support Coordination, and complex support streams.
We’ve grown fast — but we’ve grown with care and we’re proud of the team and systems we’ve built. Now we are looking for a new General Manager – People, Culture & Operations - to help us consolidate and strengthen how we work together as we continue to improve the way we support people living with disability in Tasmania.
This is a rare leadership role where humility, compassion and emotional intelligence matter, and value alignment is just as important as experience and operational know how. We are looking for a genuine, well-grounded confident leader who takes the time to find out what is already working and what is not, and who has the people skills to build strong relationships and teamwork to refine and improve our practices as we continue to grow. As the bridge between our leadership and team, we are looking for someone with the ability to bring people together, build trust, and help good people do great work.
About you :

Lead with humility, patience, and emotional intelligence
Identify and support steady improvements to systems, not radical reinvention
Promote a culture of safety, support, and accountability
Ensure compliance obligations are met without compromising compassion
Model the values that underpin how we care for participants and each other
Key Responsibilities
Support staff across sites and departments through daily engagement and feedback fostering open communication between leadership and frontline staff.
Strengthen existing systems, and department heads in care coordination, rostering, people, culture and compliance
Guide the team through audits, reporting, and continuous improvement
Monitor service quality and help the team respond to emerging needs with steadiness and care
Represent adaptCARE with authenticity and integrity at external events and forums

Senior leadership experience in NDIS, health, or community services
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Proven understanding of NDIS practice standards and compliance
Strong people skills and experience supporting cross-functional teams
Willingness to travel across Tasmania as needed
Preferred / not essential but highly regarded :
Background as an Allied Health Professional (ie. Nursing, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Physiotherapist, Speech Pathologist)
Experience as a Practice Manager or Team Leader in allied health, disability or community setting
Experience with complex behaviour support, trauma informed care or restrictive practice governance
Working knowledge of NDIS practice standards from clinical / operational aspect
Experience supporting teams across SIL / Respite / In-home / Community based care models
HOW TO APPLY :
If you’ve worked in a hands-on service delivery or therapy-based setting and you understand how to lead with empathy, process-thinking, and client-focused insight — we’d love to hear from you.
