What this opportunity involves
We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Precinct Finance Manager to join our Property Management team at Melbourne Quarter precinct in Melbourne. This role offers the perfect opportunity for a finance professional seeking work-life balance whilst maintaining a challenging and rewarding career in property management.
Working three days per week, you will direct and manage the delivery of management and financial reports to property owners, coordinate month-end reporting, annual budgets, and quarterly forecasts whilst maintaining effective accounting controls and procedures.
Please note: this role is Part-Time, 3-days per week.
Responsibilities
* Daily Operations
o Review account coding, department codes, and authorisation of accounts payable batches
o Educate and support the team on financial issues including accrual accounting
o Update internal reports weekly to assist team management
o Review and update MRI accounting system and provide EOM reports to Precinct Facilities Managers
* Monthly Deliverables
o Process month-end and deliver comprehensive month-end reports for each property owner
o Complete general ledger entries review for completeness and accuracy
o Execute month-end close-off procedures for MRI system
o Complete GST reviews and consolidation reporting requirements
* Quarterly & Annual Functions
o Coordinate quarterly reforecasts with Precinct Facilities Managers
o Prepare property budgets and facilitate successful internal and owner budget review meetings
o Manage outgoings estimates and wash-up reconciliations where applicable
o Prepare audited operating expense statements and liaise with external auditors
Requirements
* Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
* Minimum 5 years\' experience in financial reporting within property management, real estate, or related industry
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* Demonstrated ability to prioritise work effectively
* Excellent communication skills across all organisational levels
* MBA or advanced certification (CFA, CPA)
* Experience with MRI accounting systems
* Property management industry experience
* High degree of independence with ability to operate within contractual boundaries
* Positive approach to meeting client needs whilst managing tenant expectations
* Strong team collaboration skills
* Detail-oriented with excellent analytical capabilities
