Our client, a leading insurance organisation, is seeking a Senior Manager to spearhead their Data & AI Governance initiatives. This pivotal role involves developing and executing a comprehensive data strategy to position data as a trusted, strategic asset that fuels business transformation, innovation, and competitive advantage.
Reporting directly to the Chief Data Officer, you will design and implement a robust data governance framework to ensure high-quality, accessible, and compliant data. You'll lead efforts to embed a strong data culture, facilitating self-service analytics and enabling AI-driven decision-making across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and driving the data strategy aligning with business goals and regulatory standards.
* Establishing and maintaining data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
* Monitoring data quality metrics and ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR.
* Leading data ownership and stewardship models to clarify roles and responsibilities.
* Managing data cataloguing, metadata management, and data lineage tools.
* Working closely with Data & Analytics teams to govern data assets through their lifecycle.
* Driving initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce risks through effective data management.
* Supporting business units in implementing cost-effective data governance solutions.
About you:
* 7+ years' experience in data governance, strategy, or related roles within large organisations.
* Relevant degree in Business, IT, Computer Science or related field; certifications such as DAMA CDMP, DCAM, or Collibra Ranger are advantageous.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
* Proficiency with data management tools like Collibra, Informatica, or Alation.
* Deep understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK) and data risk management.
* Exceptional stakeholder management and collaboration abilities.
