Job Description As a Transport Allocator / Route Planner you will act as the primary link between our production facility, customer contact centre, and third-party delivery partners. This position balances technical route planning with active, daily terminal management. Focused on optimising delivery networks, manage driver compliance, and ensure the distribution operation runs efficiently and within strict company guidelines. Key Responsibilities: Analyse and adjust daily driver runs to meet a target fleet capacity utilisation. Efficiently manage unexpected contingencies, arrange relief drivers, and re-route delivery schedules in real time. monitor courier and driver behaviour, and maintain strong, compliant relationships with transport providers. Investigate and resolve delivery discrepancies and customer enquiries promptly, ensuring the site standard is maintained. Liaise daily with Production to align on dispatch deadlines, coordinate with the Contact Centre regarding distribution updates, and work with Administration to manage account and run adjustments. Prepare and maintain comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly reports tracking fleet performance, load balancing metrics, and distribution efficiency. Why Us? Required Skills & Experience Proven experience in a customer-focused operational environment, with a strong background in transport scheduling, fleet coordination, or last-mile distribution. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data management) to handle daily route configuration. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with transport drivers, site operations, and corporate management. Strong analytical capability, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to make logical scheduling decisions under tight operational deadlines.
