Job Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapist to join our team in delivering specialist therapeutic interventions for individuals, couples, families, and groups affected by gambling harm. As part of this role, you will provide high-quality counselling services via face-to-face, telephone, and online modalities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and regularly review individualised treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals.
- Deliver services in line with the program framework, including intake, assessment, and evidence-based interventions.
- Facilitate group support sessions to address gambling harm in the community.
- Respond to referrals promptly and make appropriate internal and external referrals to support clients holistically.
Requirements for Success:
- Degree in Psychology or Counselling / Other related Degree and Diploma in Counselling - For further information regarding the qualifications required for the role please contact us at Mission Australia directly.
- Current membership of a relevant peak professional body or association.
- Proven experience in therapeutic counselling, including assessment, case planning, and the delivery of individual, couple, family, and group sessions across face-to-face, phone, and online settings.
- A strong understanding of gambling-related harm and the challenges experienced by affected individuals and families.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement tailored treatment plans supporting client recovery and wellbeing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
