Located in South Bowenfels, the Lithgow Campus is considered as a comprehensive community health centre supporting approximately 20,000 people living in the town and surrounding areas. The services available in Lithgow hospital include Domiciliary care unit, Emergency department, Geriatric assessment unit, Obstetric services, Paediatric service, Drug and Alcohol unit.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Nurse Manager to provide effective day‑to‑day operational leadership across a broad range of hospital services. This is an excellent opportunity to work in regional NSW, leading operations within an acute facility and working closely with all departments including the local Multipurpose Service (MPS) to ensure efficient and effective daily service delivery.

Working alongside the Director of Nursing and Midwifery, the Operations Nurse Manager ensures the delivery of efficient, patient‑centred and outcome‑focused nursing services in line with NBMLHD policies, community needs and allocated resources. The successful applicant will provide operational leadership, organisation and management of nursing services to support the provision of safe, high‑quality patient care.

The role also plays a key part in supporting the organisation's safety management system by fostering a positive health and safety culture and consulting with staff on matters that influence workplace wellbeing. This position is integral to maintaining high standards of care, operational excellence and a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

What You Will Bring To The Role

Registered Nurse/Midwife Division 1 with current National Registration with AHPRA .
Recognised Tertiary management / leadership qualification or working towards, including recently engaged in professional development to further enhance their management and leadership competencies with demonstrated recent experience at a senior nursing management level in an acute hospital.
Broad operational management experience at a senior level within a complex health care environment.
Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, advocacy and communication skills that support the development of a positive workplace culture.
Understanding of, and commitment to the effective and meaningful engagement of clinicians in the decision-making process that impact on positive patient outcomes.
Demonstrated experience in the successful application of change management principles.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues relating to nursing/midwifery professional practice.
Current unrestricted drivers' licence for use in NSW/Australia and the willingness to travel in the course of employment.
