The Role
Reporting to the Executive Chef, we are seeking passionate and motivated Commis Chefs to join our dynamic Pastry kitchen team in a Full-time and Casual basis. As an integral part of the brigade, you will support the delivery of exceptional dining experiences through precise preparation, attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
In this role, you will:
* Prepare, cook and present food in accordance with menu specifications, recipes, portion control, and hotel food safety, hygiene and quality standards.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation across all kitchen, storage, refrigeration and preparation areas, including temperature monitoring, stock rotation and day-dotting.
* Prepare and manage mise en place, daily preparation lists, specials and service requirements to ensure timely and efficient food production across outlets.
* Minimise waste and food costs, support smooth shift handovers, and assist other kitchen team members while following reasonable requests from the Chef in charge.
About You
You're an enthusiastic and motivated chef with a strong passion for food, eager to learn and grow in a fine dining environment. You take pride in your craft and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen.
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher qualification.
* Certificate III Patisserie or higher qualification (desirable).
* 1-2 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within a fine dining or premium restaurant.
* A strong work ethic, positive attitude and genuine love for cooking.
* A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
