We are looking for compassionate and highly skilled School Psychologists to work with our students who have highly complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Mental health intake and assessment.
2. Counselling, intervention, and case management.
3. Psychological assessments and written reports.
4. Develop individual support plans, including assessment of risk and safety planning.
5. Crisis management.
6. Support our young people with mental health issues, learning difficulties, and disabilities to engage in their education.
7. Support staff within Ohana College with advice and resources.
8. Develop and manage an assessment and referral process for students to access support from other professional services.
9. Support program facilitation.
10. Liaise with students' parents/carers, support staff, and external services to provide holistic support.
11. Collaborate with management when dealing with child protection and welfare situations.
Key skills and experience (Selection Criteria):
1. Tertiary degree in Psychology (or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
2. Excellent knowledge of the NCCD and EAP processes relevant in an independent school setting.
3. Experience in case management and working with young people at risk in a school setting.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
5. Understanding of child protection issues and mandatory reporting obligations.
6. Knowledge of data collection, program evaluation, and problem-solving skills.
7. High-level communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with young people, including those who are distressed or have challenging behaviors.
8. Understanding of barriers impacting school participation and behavior, especially for disadvantaged and marginalized youth.
9. Experience working with culturally diverse families.
10. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
11. Self-management skills to work effectively with limited supervision.
Qualifications (Mandatory):
* Membership of a Professional Body.
* Current QLD Driver's Licence.

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM, with 5 weeks of annual leave.
