Job Title: Junior Hydrogeologist / Field Technician
We are seeking a Junior Hydrogeologist/Field Technician to join our team at SLR. As a key member of our Hydrology & Hydrogeology discipline, you will work on a variety of field-based projects and have the opportunity to develop your skills in groundwater monitoring and sampling data analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake routine integrated monitoring programs which include groundwater, surface water, soils and air quality sampling while following SLR procedures and industry best practice.
* Perform field studies that may include hydrogeological site investigations, drilling programs, monitoring bore installations and hydraulic testing.
* Conduct UAV (drone) surveys.
* Prepare quality factual reports based on field and laboratory data collected for or provided by clients.
* Prepare Health and Safety documentation for the field work.
* Liaise with site personnel, suppliers and laboratory personnel to support the smooth delivery of the field work.
Requirements:
* A degree in Science or Engineering, specializing in Hydrogeology or a related field.
* Practical experience in the field of hydrogeology with demonstrated skills in the areas of groundwater monitoring and sampling data analysis, groundwater bore drilling and construction, data analysis and report writing.
* A working knowledge of QLD groundwater legislation and policies, standards and guidelines.
* Theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in groundwater data analysis and interpretation.
* Excellent communication and reporting skills.
* A willingness to travel domestically and remotely to undertake monitoring projects.
* A manual driver's licence and previous 4WD experience and training.
* Australian citizenship/working rights.
