About The Role

Located within the Academic Integrity Unit (AIU) in the Education Innovation Exchange, part of the Education, Experience and Employability portfolio, this role supports the Manager, Academic Integrity in implementing and continuously improving the University-wide academic integrity framework, as well as related procedures and processes.

The position is responsible for conducting fair, impartial and timely investigations into complex academic misconduct matters. It also provides specialist advice to School Academic Integrity Advisers, Authorised Officers and Unit Convenors to support the prevention and detection of academic misconduct, while promoting Swinburne's educative approach to academic integrity.

In addition, the role works closely with students and school staff, coordinating and administering academic misconduct meetings. This includes scheduling meetings and ensuring outcomes are accurately recorded and communicated within required timeframes. The position also provides administrative support to Academic Integrity Committees, including preparing high-quality agendas, minutes and meeting papers, and contributes to building strong, collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders across the University.

About You

* Demonstrated experience in investigating student academic misconduct, including identifying outsourced assessments and using metadata, investigative techniques and detection technologies to establish authorship.
* Proven ability to interpret, apply and implement policies, procedures, and processes within a higher education environment.
* Strong understanding of current and emerging threats to academic integrity, including risks associated with generative AI (GenAI) tools.
* Highly developed communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to gather and present evidence for use in academic misconduct meetings.
* Advanced digital literacy and analytical capability, with experience reviewing information across multiple systems and using data management and database applications effectively.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet strict deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels to achieve effective outcomes.
* Proven ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion, maintaining confidentiality while engaging with students in a respectful, empathetic, and tactful manner.
