Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineering Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide specialist engineering expertise for system management and projects in support of our National Technical Monitoring System (SCADA) and other high reliability, safety critical systems and technologies.
This role involves maintaining system performance and reliability in accordance with regulatory requirements while actively supporting the team by offering expert engineering oversight and guidance. Key responsibilities include investigating and managing corrections, enhancements, and upgrades on supported systems, preparing system engineering documentation, and developing proposals and estimates for system changes and improvements.
The successful applicant will be part of a high-performing team and play a critical role in supporting business objectives. They will liaise closely with stakeholders across the organization and externally, including maintenance centres, asset managers, project managers, safety specialists, system users, support contractors, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Investigate, manage and implement corrections, enhancements and upgrades on supported systems
2. Prepare system engineering, support and maintenance documentation, policies and standards
3. Develop proposals and estimates for system changes and improvements and control system configurations
4. Support field maintenance staff in deploying system changes and resolving system issues
5. Participate in projects and lead the creation of project engineering artefacts
Requirements
The successful applicant will have an Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications, Information Technology or similar engineering degree, or certified equivalent international qualification that provides eligibility for registration as a professional engineer under applicable state or territory legislation.
They will also have experience in PLC, SCADA RTU/Telemetry, IT/OT networking systems and protocols, demonstrated experience integrating legacy systems, and project management skills.
