Salary Package: From $78,954 (HEW Level 4) plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading.

Appointment Type: Full-time (35 hours per week), continuing position

Location: Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde

The Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences is seeking a Warehouse Coordinator to play an essential role in supporting our dynamic research community. This is your opportunity to contribute directly to research excellence by ensuring seamless operations across our laboratory storage and distribution facilities.

Working within one of Australia's premier health and medical research environments, you'll coordinate the day-to-day logistics of our PC2 storage facilities, managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of laboratory supplies and consumables. You'll be at the centre of operations supporting researchers working on cutting-edge projects in neurosciences, cancer medicine, vascular science, and other vital fields that make a real difference to people's lives.

About the Role

As Warehouse Coordinator, you'll be responsible for the efficient coordination of logistical operations across multiple storage locations, ensuring our research teams have timely access to the materials they need. Your work will directly enable world-class research to continue without interruption.

Your key responsibilities will include:

* As an integral part of the Lab Operations team, you will coordinate day-to-day operations of the faculty PC2 storage facilities, optimising storage across multiple locations whilst maintaining a customer-focused approach.

* Receiving PC2 inbound laboratory deliveries, verifying items against purchase orders, checking for damage or discrepancies, and promptly unpacking temperature-sensitive items for appropriate storage.

* Notifying research teams promptly when group-purchased temperature sensitive materials arrive to facilitate timely collection and use.

* Maintaining inventory levels of standard chemicals, reagents, and consumables across 2 Innovation Road basement warehouse, Level 2 and 3 storage areas; and the PC2 facility in 2 Technology Place.

* Monitoring stock usage and conducting routine stock checks and audits to minimise shortages, excess inventory, and expired materials.

* Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of storage facility procedures, ensuring alignment with relevant legislation and safety standards including Biosecurity, Dangerous and Hazardous Goods requirements.

* Coordinating accurate and timely distribution of supplies to laboratory personnel from submitted internal requests across the two research facilities.

* Supporting compliance with PC2, OGTR, Biosecurity, Dangerous Goods and University requirements through appropriate storage, handling, documentation, labelling, and access controls.

About Us

The Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences leads dynamic research initiatives across biomedical, translational, and health services domains. Our key areas of expertise include neurosciences - particularly motor neuron disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Parkinson's, neurological rehabilitation, and the clinical neuroscience of pain - as well as dementia, cancer medicine, and vascular science.

FMHHS operates Macquarie University's largest PC2 research facility, soon to comprise two laboratories with a combined footprint exceeding 3,600 square metres. Our cutting-edge laboratories are equipped with advanced microscopy and imaging systems, histology platforms, flow cytometry, next-generation sequencing capabilities, dedicated cell culture suites, and electrophysiology research equipment.

About You

We're looking for someone with excellent organisational abilities and strong attention to detail who can manage competing demands across multiple locations. You'll bring experience in coordinating logistics or demonstrated problem-solving skills in warehouse, laboratory, or similar operational environments. A service-oriented mindset and commitment to safety are essential.

Key Selection Criteria:

* Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands across multiple storage locations.

* Experience coordinating logistics activities or demonstrated strong multi-tasking and day-to-day operational problem-solving skills in a warehouse, laboratory, or similar environment.

* Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

* Experience in, or demonstrated knowledge of, the correct storage of materials across different environments, including cold storage and chemicals, in accordance with safety requirements.

* Knowledge of correct manual handling techniques and the ability to apply these in a warehouse environment.

* Familiarity with relevant legislation and standards applicable to a PC2 laboratory storage facility including Biosecurity, Dangerous and Hazardous Goods requirements, or ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.

Desirable Criteria:

* Experience working in warehouse operations, store management or inventory control within a laboratory, research, or regulated environment.

* Working knowledge of reporting, stock audits and stock take processes.

* Understanding of Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR) requirements relevant to PC2 laboratory operations.

**Other Specific Requirements:**
