We are seeking a skilled design engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and developing high-quality steel livestock crates and related metal fabrication components.
The successful applicant will be responsible for creating detailed design drawings and CAD models, working closely with our business owner and foreman to optimize scheduling, fabrication workflows, production efficiency, and delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Developing component specifications that align with the manufacturing process
* Working with new software systems to integrate order-of-materials procurement, component tracking, and process workflows
* Assisting in calibration and setup of laser-cutting equipment aligned to CAD drawings and manufacturing tolerances
Requirements:
The role requires a relevant qualification in drafting/CAD (mechanical, structural steel or fabrication focused) and demonstrated experience in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks or equivalent) in a fabrication/metal-work environment.
