Overview

At GitHub, we empower companies and organizations to achieve excellence in software development collaboratively. We're in search of a dynamic Senior Director of Mid-Market Sales, APAC to spearhead the expansion and advancement of our Global Mid-Market Sales Organization, both in cultivating new business and nurturing existing relationships.

We are looking for a visionary leader with an innate drive for assembling high-performing teams and achieving unparalleled sales outcomes. In this role, you will lead one of GitHub’s fastest-growing segments by scaling a team of five account executives and hiring a manager to support growth in the APAC region.

This chance is more than just a role—it’s a chance to make a meaningful impact on GitHub’s growth trajectory in APAC by building and scaling the inaugural team.

Responsibilities

- Team Development: Develop and coach a high-performing team by hiring diverse talent and prioritizing development and talent management.
- Business Development: Develop territory and team plans, assess market opportunity for GitHub Products and Services and align resources to over-achieve on business goals.
- Risk Management: Identify risk and be decisive to ensure any risk is mitigated.
- Network building: Build a solid network at GitHub and within customer and prospect accounts to support the field.
- Understand GitHub products and solutions: Understand how we enable customers to be successful with our products and services to help them be innovation leaders.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

- 11+ years experience in technology-related sales, technical selling, or a related field, OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Technology, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 9+ years experience in technology-related sales, technical selling, or a related field, OR Master's Degree in Business Administration AND 7+ years experience in technology-related sales, technical selling, or a related field, OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years experience managing people in deal-closing roles in the APAC Region.
- 5+ years enterprise-level strategic sales or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with channel partners and consumption-based product models.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Ability to travel approximately up to 25% to support business and/or customer needs.
- Experience as a second-or third-level people leader (managing managers or manager-of-managers).
- Deep understanding of ANZ, Japan, and India regions.
- Sales experience leading teams at a cloud solution platform vendor.
- Experience analyzing market trends, and making data-driven decisions to drive sales growth.
- Experience creating strong relationships within channel partner communities such as Microsoft to help build strategy and scalable Mid-Market co-sell and channel partner motions.
