CYMHS Youth Worker (Y‐HiTH) supports young people & families statewide in a multidisciplinary team under a clinical case manager.
The Team:
Join a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary team within the Youth Mental Health in the Home (Y‐HiTH) service, dedicated to delivering responsive, recovery‐oriented care for young people and their family/significant others in their home and the community. The team values collaboration, innovation and flexibility, working closely with young people, families/significant others and partner services to provide holistic, youth‐focused support in a safe and inclusive environment.
The Role:
The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) encompasses several clinical streams statewide operating across Tasmania. Clinical streams include Community, Out‐of‐home‐care children, Youth (16-24 years), and Youth Forensic Divert and Connect, as well as the Y‐HiTH program. The Youth Worker will work in the Y‐HiTH program but also across the streams, where required, under the direction of a clinical case manager, as part of a multidisciplinary team in supporting the delivery of high‐quality mental health care and, in accordance with Mental Health Services principles, National Safety Quality Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies. The Youth Worker role will work under the direction of a clinical case manager within the CYMHS streams providing assistance and support to young people and their families accessing the service.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours to be negotiated with successful applicant. For a period of 12 months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full‐time, part‐time and casual vacancies.
Salary:
$67,193 to $72,126 per annum. 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Essential criteria:
* Current Working with Children Registration
* Current Driver's Licence
Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
Desirable criteria:
* Cert IV in relevant area, for example Youth Work or Community Services
* Experience working with young people in a similar role
* A current "Provide First Aid (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011)" Certificate
* Mental Health First Aid (or similar)
