Alpha Medical Center Kalgoorlie is seeking compassionate and experienced Aged / Disabled Carer to join our growing team. This role involves providing direct care and support to clients within a respite care and community setting.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Providing personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene support
* Assisting clients with mobility, transfers, and use of mobility aids
* Supporting clients with daily living activities to maintain independence and quality of life
* Assisting with meal preparation, feeding, and basic domestic tasks
* Providing emotional support, companionship, and encouraging social engagement
* Following and implementing individual care plans and reporting any changes in client condition
* Assisting with medication (where appropriately trained)
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation, including care notes and incident reports
* Communicating effectively with healthcare professionals, supervisors, and family members
* Ensuring compliance with all relevant care standards and safety requirements
* Adhering to infection control procedures, manual handling guidelines, and privacy obligations
Essential Requirements
* Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, or equivalent
* Minimum 1 year relevant experience in aged care or disability support
* National Police Check
* Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
* First Aid and CPR certification
* Good communication skills and a professional attitude
* Ability to work independently and within a team
Preferred Skills
* Understanding of DVA or home care services
* Manual handling and infection control training
* Experience in respite or community care settings
