Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager Procurement Legal to lead our Procurement and Legal team.
This pivotal role acts as a trusted advisor to the Executive Leadership Team, driving compliance, efficiency, and innovation across procurement, contracts, and legal services.

About the Role As Manager Procurement Legal, you will: Drive Strategy: Develop and implement Council's Strategic Procurement and Contract Management Framework, aligning with corporate objectives and legislative requirements.
Lead Operations: Oversee procurement and contract management activities, ensuring transparency, accountability, and best value outcomes.
Provide Expert Legal Advice: Deliver high level legal and commercial guidance on complex matters, safeguarding Council's interests in negotiations, disputes, and litigation.
Champion Innovation: Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
Build Capability: Lead and mentor a high performing team across procurement, stores, and legal services, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
To be considered for this position; Law degree, admission as a solicitor in Queensland, and current unrestricted practicing certificate.
Minimum of Queensland C class drivers' license.
Extensive experience leading a department at a strategic level in a large and complex organisation as a senior or executive leader.
3+ years post-admission experience in legal advisory roles, with strong expertise in local government, contract law, and procurement.
Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and deliver strategic outcomes.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
