The Opportunity
They’re seeking a Junior Accountant to join the Townsville team, reporting directly to an industry leading Management Accountant. You’ll be analysing costs, supporting budgeting/forecasting and helping drive improved decision-making across a diverse and operationally focused business.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse job costing data and prepare insights for operational leaders
- Support budgeting, forecasting and monthly financial reporting
- Assist with inventory control and month-end journals & reconciliations
- Help with tax and compliance reporting for GST & BAS
- Identify cost variances, track performance and contribute to cost-down initiatives
- Provide day-to-day support to the Management Accountant and wider team
About You
- Near completion or recently completed degree in Accounting/Business
- Confident with Microsoft Excel; exposure to accounting software preferred
- Strong analytical and numerical skills; comfortable working with data
- Organised, reliable and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Clear communicator who can work autonomously and in a team
