We have regular opportunities in the Brisbane &/or greater QLD region and are seeking experienced Civil Roadworks Supervisors interested in initial 1–2 year Assignments with potential extensions or ongoing roles. The role can lead to transition from a Civil Supervisor to a TMR 'Pre‐Qualified Civil Roadworks / Structures Inspector' or client‐side inspector for TMR, councils or consultants.
Responsibilities
* Use knowledge of TMR policies, standards and specifications and be able to read, understand and interpret technical documents and standards.
* Use keen observation skills to identify conforming or non‐conforming road construction materials and practices.
* Confidently use a mobile phone or tablet to take, store and upload photos to government portals (cloud storage).
* Prepare written documents including daily diary and reports.
* Communicate with all stakeholders and keep them informed of progress and quality of works.
* Provide effective administration and documentation as required.
* Provide a professional commitment to the health and safety of staff, contractors and site visitors in line with company policy.
* Computer skills in Microsoft Windows operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, file management and email are a distinct advantage.
Mandatory Experience
The candidate must have a minimum of 5–7 years of practical experience in road works construction and at least 2 years of crew supervision on projects to TMR (or any other Australian Road Construction Authority) standards.
Note: This client requirement rules out candidates from overseas without Australian road construction experience. Must have a driver's licence and access to personal transport to and from the site. Preference for a personal mobile phone.
Preference will also be given to someone already living in Brisbane or Queensland or willing to relocate there. Proposed hours are nominally 40 per week, although there may be variations due to project demands. Some Saturday and Sunday work may be required, but anticipated to be minimal.
