Description
Support Worker role part‐time and casual in Port Lincoln providing care and support to individuals with complex needs.
Responsibilities
* Foster independence and empower clients to achieve goals through encouragement and guidance.
* Facilitate community participation and social inclusion.
* Provide positive support to clients with daily activities such as meal preparation, hygiene routines and medication management, promoting a sense of stability and routine via in‐home and day activity care.
* Respond promptly and effectively to challenges or issues ensuring a positive, safe and nurturing environment.
* Maintain accurate and up‐to‐date records of individual progress and activities according to Cara's policies and procedures.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with complex care needs, including clients with high behavioural needs and confidence to respond effectively in challenging situations.
* Confident driver with at least a P2 driver's licence and willingness to operate an accessible van (training provided) to take clients to appointments in Adelaide.
* Availability to work morning, afternoon, and evening shifts, including a minimum of one overnight shift each week and alternate weekends.
* Passion for supporting people with disabilities to live their best lives.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships.
* Flexibility to work autonomously or as part of a team.
* Valid work visa and right to work in Australia.
* First Aid Certificate, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
* Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent experience (not essential but desirable).
