About The Role
Working as a Residential Support Worker at our service in Newcomb, you will empower the people we support to live independently and participate in the community. Providing hands on support while ensuring a safe, inclusive and empowering environment, you will become an integral part of their care team. We currently have two part time positions available.
Duties Will Include
* Assisting with personal care, daily living tasks and household duties.
* Supporting community participation, social engagement and recreational activities.
* Encouraging independence by helping build skills and achieve goals.
* Building meaningful relationships to provide person-centred support.
* Maintaining accurate and thorough records of activities, progress and incidents.
What you will bring to the role:
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to problem solve
* Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
* Ability to accurately record case notes.
* Ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
* A passion for supporting people to live their best lives
* Current CPR, First Aid, Working with Children Check, NDIS Check & completion of the NDIS Workers Orientation Module (or willingness to obtain)
* Victorian drivers licence
At Gateways Support Services, we work on a fortnightly Week 1 / Week 2 roster, running Thursday to Wednesday. The roster for these vacancies are as follows:
Line A - 21 Hours - Fixed term, 3 month contract until 1st June 2026
Week 1: Thurs 7am-3pm, Fri 7am-11am, Mon 4pm-7pm
Week 2: Mon 7am-9am, Tues 7am-11am
Line B - 38 Hours
Week 1: Thurs 4pm-7pm, Fri 4pm-7pm, Sat 10:30am-1:30pm, Tues 7am-11am & 4pm-7pm, Wed 4pm-7pm
Week 2: Thurs 4pm-7pm, Fri 7am-11am & 4pm-7pm, Mon 4pm-7pm, Tues 4pm-7pm, Wed 4pm-7pm
