About West Arnhem

West Arnhem Regional Council serves almost 50,000 km2 of spectacular Top End country, including Aboriginal lands and iconic tourist destinations across five remote communities.

The Early Childhood Manager role

Lead early childhood services that make a real difference for children, families, and remote Indigenous communities in West Arnhem. As our Early Childhood Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership for the Jabiru Child Care Centre, Minjilang Creche, and Warruwi Creche in line with the National Quality Framework, the Early Years Learning Framework, and WHS requirements.

Lead the strategic planning, development, delivery, quality assurance, and evaluation of culturally responsive early childhood educational programs and practices. Drive continuous improvement, mentor and develop your team, and ensure educational programs are high‐quality, safe, and culturally respectful. This role is ideal for an experienced early childhood leader seeking to apply their skills in a hands‐on, community‐focused position in the Top End.

About you

Significant experience (between 3–5 years) in a senior early childhood education and care leadership role (e.g. Centre Director, Assistant Director, or equivalent) with responsibility for staff, budget, and regulatory compliance.

Diploma of Early Childhood Education (or higher equivalent), current First Aid plus Anaphylaxis and Asthma emergency training.

You are a collaborative, culturally responsive leader who is excited by remote work, open to learning, and ready to champion high‐quality, play‐based learning in a unique setting.

Exceptional benefits

Total remuneration package of $132,318 - $150,739 (including salary $116,049 – 132,205), plus 12% superannuation and 17.5% leave loading.

6 weeks annual leave, remote locality and phone allowances, relocation assistance, furnished accommodation with subsidised rent, free uniforms, study assistance, and access to an Employee Assistance Program.

How to apply

You must have full, unrestricted working rights in Australia to be considered, and the Council applies Special Measures to support increased Aboriginal employment in the region.
